Edward Allen Beck, 69, of Mifflinburg died Thursday, July 21, 2011, in his home.
Born in Sugarloaf Township, Columbia County, Sept. 24, 1941, he was a son of the late Harvey E. Sr. and Luvera Eisenhower.
He graduated from Millville High School in 1959, and retired from Press Enterprise Inc.
He attended the former Church of the Nazarene, Bloomsburg, where he sang in the choir; participated in the Men's Ministry, where he helped in preparation of its yearly venison supper. He donated time to the Northeast Nazarene Camp on its annual work weekends.
While living in rural Bloomsburg, he had a woodworking shop and an orchard, raising a variety of fruits on the farm. He liked to hunt, fish, and even was into photography, sometimes going many miles to get the perfect picture.
Edward will be remembered by his four brothers: Walter Beck, rural Bloomsburg; Harvey Beck Jr. and wife Eleanor, Bloomsburg; Russell Beck, Catawissa, and Arthur Beck and wife Doris, Espy; nieces and nephews and their families.
"Forever in our hearts."
He is entrusted to the care of the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, where a memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Allen F. Acor presiding. Call 6-7 p.m. Friday. He will be laid to rest at a later date in the family plot in Columbia Hill Cemetery, rural Danville.
