Laurie (also known as Laura for much of her life) was the eldest daughter of Joseph and Annie O'Kesson Coult. Laurie's mother died when she was only 11. She helped to raise her brothers and sisters as well as several nephews and nieces. Laurie and Clarence had 4 children - 3 still born daughters - Eveline 1914, Laura Henrietta 1915 and Katherine 1917 and one son - Clarence Joseph 1919-1969. Through the years they had over 70 foster children that they welcomed into their home.
