She was born July 21, 1941, in Washington, D.C., to Kenneth and Irene (Dearing) Jones.
A longtime resident of Naperville, Mrs. Hosford was a 1959 graduate of Glenbrook High School.
She was a civil servant for the U.S. Census Bureau for many years.
She was employed as business office manager by Edward Health Services Corp. for 14 years and was recognized for distinctive service.
She was an avid cook, gardener and traveler.
She collected country crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Hosford of Naperville; two daughters, Dawne (husband Alan) Martin of Naperville and Debi (husband Fred) Murray of Whiteriver, Ariz.; two sons, Bradley Hosford of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Scott Hosford of Naperville; five grandchildren, Becki Neenan, Melissa, Sarah and Reid Martin and Nathaniel Murray; her mother-in-law, Evelyn Hosford of Aurora; and her godmother, Betty Payne of Hamilton, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one aunt, Dorothy Wright; her godfather, Thomas Payne; and her father-in-law, Bill Hosford.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Road in Naperville.
Interment will be at Naperville Cemetery.
