Edith Bauer
Mrs. Clifford (Edith) Bauer, 59, of LaMoille, died early Monday, May 11,1981 in the Mendota Community Hospital after a long illness.

Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church in Clarion Township, with the Rev. David Quarberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Lundquist Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bauer was born April 29, 1922, in LaMoille Township to Ira and Charlotte (Stamberger) Wagner. She married Clifford Bauer on April 21, 1945, in the Clarion Lutheran Church.

She was a teacher at the LaMoille High School for the past 20 years where she taught English, journalism, college prep and had been advisor for the Teen Trib section of LaMoille High School, in the Daily News-Tribune. She was also the Student Council advisor at the high school. She also taught school in Paw Paw, Dixon and Malden.

In addition Mrs. Bauer was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the National Council of Teachers of English, the Music Educators National Conference and the Illinois Music Educators Association.

Many of her articles had been published in the Music Educators Journal and the National English Journal. She also composed several wedding and religious musical selections.

She was a member of the Clarion Lutheran Church and had been church organist for the past 30 years. She organized the church choir and directed it for 17 years and also directed the choir at St John's Lutheran Church in Mendota for the past 10 years.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Craig of LaMoille; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Celeste) Faber, Miss Connie Bauer and Mrs. Ron (Christa) Davis, all of LaMoille, and five grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was a grandson.
