Robert C. Gunn, Sr., 89, passed away at Rose Terrace Assisted Living, in Memphis TN. Robert was born in Buffalo NY on September 4, 1921 to Gordon and Adelaide. He is survived by his beloved wife Eileen; and three children, Colleen Payne, Lynn Houston, and Robert Gunn, Jr.; three grandchildren, Gordon, Jessica, and Amber. Bob was a veteran of World War II in the US Army Signal Corps. He attended the University of Buffalo. Upon returning from the military Robert joined his father, the founder of Mullen and Gunn, a liquor wholesale company, and subsequently became President of the company until he retired in 1981. Bob's passion was horse racing and he loved to go to the Fort Erie, Ontario thoroughbred horse racing track with his father, but in later years he made many friends at Off Track Betting in Buffalo, NY. He and his wife, Eileen, moved to Memphis to be closer to their children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, with the funeral to follow at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 4181 Park Ave. Memphis TN 38117.
