Jean Newman Baldwin, formerly of Biglerville, departed this life on the evening of July 22, 2011, in Fayetteville.
Born December 18, 1915 in McKnightstown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Alma (Sowers) Newman. She was the wife of the late Ray W. Baldwin who died January 21, 1996.
Mrs. Baldwin was a member of the Idaville United Brethren Church.
She worked as a part-time fall employee as a weight master in the scales office of Knouse Foods for a number of years.
Mrs. Baldwin is survived by her daughter, Ann B. Thomas and husband Dale, of Biglerville; three grandchildren: Tracy Thomas and wife Pam, of Biglerville, Mindy McKee and husband Mark, of Darby, MT, Dawn Thomas and her companion Dwayne Myers of Gettysburg; six great grandchildren: Adam Thomas, Rachel Rebert and husband Mark of Orrtanna; Matthew Thomas of Biglerville, Stephanie Thomas of Biglerville, Dusty McKee and Karli McKee, both of Darby, MT; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Elise Sterner of Biglerville, Martha Nary of York, Winnie Weikert of Fairfield; and one brother, Herbert Newman of Biglerville.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holly Lynne Thomas; and three brothers: Paul Newman, Jr., Clair Newman, and Dale Newman.
Funeral services will be held July 27, 2011 at 11 a.m., at the Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, with Rev. Stewart Johns and Pastor Kenneth Reid officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery.
