Listed in the 1900 census (with husband John K Jacobs) as age 43 or 48 [hard for me to read] born Oct 1856.
1860 census lists her as age 6 and 1870 as age 16 (according to her mother's website.) which isn't consistent with birth in 1852 or 1856.
Her sister, Ida, is listed as 2 years younger than Mary in 1860 and 1870 censuses and not listed in the 1856 census.
Her parents were married 6 October 1853.
The (Iowa) state census in 1856 has her age as 1.
