Born October 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James Winford Kerns and Grace Hawvermale Kerns.
She was a secretary for Berkeley County Schools and a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, David Ambrose, Berkeley Springs; two daughters, Betty Chase, Martinsburg and Janice Pinyan, Hedgesville; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse Ray Leslie Ambrose; one brother, Andrew Kerns and two sisters, Kathleen Grove and Doris Stillson.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12 at Friendship Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
