She was born in Arma, Kan. on September 2, 1919 to John and Pearl Hamaker.
She moved to Bush, Ill. as a baby and then on to Chicago. Her mother died when she was ten years old and two months later her father was killed in an auto accident. She was moved to live with her Aunt Blanche in Lawrenceville, Ill. and then at age 15 moved to Seattle to live with her grandmother. There she graduated from Queen Anne High School.
In 1938 she married John Noll and they had three children,
Philip, Terry, and Janice.
After her children were raised she married Karl Berg on June 26, 1965. They had an ideal marriage, working for the same company, traveling a lot and then moving on to Palm Desert in 1985, taking up golf with the Golfing Niners. She was active in bridge, belonging to many groups.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Melba in 1990.
Both of her sons were killed in an auto accident in 2006 near Lancaster, Calif.
She is survived by her husband, Karl;
her daughter, Janice Barcello;
two granddaughters,
and one grandson;
and also, four step-children
and many great and great-great grandchildren.
No funeral will be held, at her wishes, cremation and burial at City of Kirkland cemetery in Kirkland, Wash.
