Earl Allen Buried at Waverly, Nebr – Funeral services for Earl C. Allen, 23, who ended his life last Wednesday afternoon in the hay mow of the barn at the farm of his parents in South Spring Creek community, were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Trinity Lutheran Church. Last rites were conducted by Rev. Walter Chittenden, and burial made in the cemetery at Waverly, Nebraska on Saturday, with Henry Rother, Ivan Berney, Clayton Marco, LeRoy Stepp, Bob Marco and Raymond Rother as pall bearers.

OBITUARY – Earl C. Allen was born in Greeley county about 5 miles northeast of Wolbach July 17, 1913 and passed away at his home 2 miles southeast of Wolbach February 3, 1937 at the age of 23 years, 6 months and 16 days. He has lived all of his life in this community, and was known as a quiet and reserved young man, loyal to his many friends. He was an active athlete and a member of the Wolbach baseball team for several years, usually as a pitcher. He leaves to mourn his passing besides his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Allen, four brothers, William, Irvin, Albert and Jack, and four sisters, Grace, Dorothy, Lois and Lorraine all of Wolbach, one grandmother and numerous other relatives and friends.
