HOLD RITES FOR MRS. REICH SAT.
Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Maude Reich of Pottersville were held Saturday in West Plains with a second service held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church, Ocie with the Rev. Allen Ledbetter of Ava officiating at both services.
Mrs. Reich died Wednesday at her home following a three year illness. She was born at Ocie July 1, 1931 the daughter of Hobart and Annah McCowan Tannehill. She received her early education in the elementary school at Ocie and graduated from Gainesville High school in 1949. She also attended Southwest Baptist Teachers College, Bolivar, Southwest Missouri State College, Springfield and Arkansas State College , Jonesboro, Ark. She was married Aug. 31, 1950 to Thomas A. Reich, who survives.
Mrs. Reich had taught school for one year at Ocie, and four years at Pottersville. She had been a member of General Baptist church since she was 13 years old. Her present membership was in the General Baptist Church in West Plains. She had been a member of Caulfield 101 Saddle Club and the Gospel Five Singing Group of Union Hill Church west of West Plains. She ad her husband and their daughter Diane often sang for various community affairs.
Surviving besides her husband, is a daughter, Diane ,of the family home: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Tannehill of Ocie, an sister, Jody Miller, Prairie Village, Kan., and a brother Gary Tannehill of Kansas City.
Interment was in the family plot in Lutie cemetery.
The pallbearers were Ray Rhine, Harold Meeks, Dean Proffitt, Hayden Callahan, Charles Walker and Erman Garrett. Honorary pallbearers were Angus Williams, Dorman Frazier, Watson Crafton, Hugh Story, Bill Campbell and Cecil Riley.
