Margaret "Peggy" Heily ABERSFELLER, 89, died December 21, 2003 after a brief illness from complications of cancer. Peggy was born in *Spokane, WA. on November 20, 1914. She was one of ten children and the daughter of John and Catherine Swart. Peggy grew up in the small dusty town of Kahlotus in southeast Washington. After graduating from Kahlotus High School in 1932, Peggy attended Washington State University. A few years later, Peggy worked in banking before heading to Washington D.C. where she joined the staff of the late U.S. Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson. As part of "Scoops Troops," Peggy and her sister, Kay worked for Senator Jackson for more than 20 years. Later on, Peggy joined the staff of the Seattle law firm of Ferguson and Burdell. Peggy loved just about everything in life. She loved family and friends, world travel, the morning paper, painting class and Jack Daniels over the rocks with a slice of lemon at cocktail hour. Peggy's generosity spread far and wide from family and friends to those in dire need of help. She supported many charities including the Ryther Child Center of Seattle. Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and friend to so many. She is survived by her brother, Robert Swart of San Leandro, CA.; her grandchildren; Jeffrey Howard of Seattle, John Scott Howard of Chico, CA., Michael Howard of Hollister, CA.; Steve, Anne Hollomon-Baldwin and Pete Hollomon of Seattle; and John Patrick Heily and Andy O'Brien Heily, both of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her only child, Margaret Lynn Howard of Gilroy; her first husband, Lawrence MacDonald; and former husbands, John J. Heily and Heinz Abersfeller. Recitation of the Rosary will be at Bonney-Watson Chapel, December 26, 2003 at 7 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be December 27, 2003 at St. James Cathedral in Seattle.
