Mrs. Bridenstine's Services Wednesday. Edith Letitia Longan Bridenstine, who was born in a pioneer family in Coyle and lived there all her life, died Sunday, April 4, 1976, at the Stillwater Nursing Center. She was 82. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Friends Chapel Church with the Revs. Gerald Holden and Esther Figgins officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery east of Coyle under the direction of the Strode Funeral Home.
She was born in Coyle August 5, 1893, the daughter of Charles Willis and Susan Francis Longan. She married Homer "Bill" L. Owsley January 28, 1922, in Guthrie. He died February 6, 1948. Her second marriage was to Walter E. Bridenstine on August 10, 1960, east of Coyle. He died Dec. 21 of that year. Mrs. Bridenstine was a member of the Friends Chapel, Order of the Eastern Star in Coyle, Coyle Rebekah Lodge, the Coyle Garden Club, the Yea Wee Art Club of Coyle and the Sunshine Community Club of Progres
In addition to her two husbands, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include three brothers, Clifford H. Longan, 906 S. Pine, Stillwater, and Virgil V. Longan, both of Coyle; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Farris, Cushing, and Mrs. Clarence Luster, Perkins. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
