MANCHESTER - Yvette M. Daniel, 77, of Knowles Road, and formerly of Morton Place, Augusta, died July 19, 2011, at Augusta Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. She was born in Augusta on Feb. 26, 1934, the daughter of Richard Tardiff and Rose (Morin) Tardiff.
Yvette attended Augusta schools and was employed by the Augusta Parking District as a clerk for 19 years, retiring in May of 1997. She was previously employed by the Augusta Police Department as a crossing guard for 14 years.
Yvette was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Augustine Catholic Church, a member of the American Legion Post 2 Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge.
Her husband, Armand J. Daniel, died on April 23, 1988. She was also predeceased by her parents; by her step-mother, Antoinette (Poulin) Tardiff; two brothers, Gerard Tardiff and Victor Tardiff; a sister, Estelle Nevers; and a stepsister, Lucille Jordan.
Surviving is a daughter, Susan G. Steward, of Manchester; three sons, Armand J. Daniel, Jr. of Norridgewock, Thomas J. Daniel of Augusta and Gary J. Daniel of Gardiner; grandchildren Nicole Daniel Ouellette, Amanda Daniel Atkins and Jesse Daniel; great-grandchildren Javon Daniel, Rene Ouellette and Jacob Ouellette; and several nieces and nephews.
