Madison - Helen C. Dottl, age 91, of Madison, died on Tuesday, December 2, 1997. at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on May 1, 1906 in Madison, the daughter of Peter and Katherine Lochner. Helen was a former secretary for the United States Forest Service Products Laboratory and later with St. James Catholic Church and Ideal Body Company. She married Norbert John Dottl on October 2, 1933 in Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Helen was an original Girl Scout leader with the Black Hawk Troop and a member of St. James Catholic Church. Helen was the beloved mother of Katherine (William) Koehn of Oak Creek, Peter (Mary) Dottl of Fitchburg, and Dorothy (Dean) Godding of Madison; seven grandchildren, Gregory and Douglas Koehn, Nicholas and Timothy Otto, Thomas Dottl, and Andrew and Lisa Rose Godding; and a great-grand daughter, Alexandria Dottl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert J. in 1993; a daughter, Rose Ann Otto; three brothers; and three sisters. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 1128 Saint James Court in Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 1997, with Father Douglas L. Dushack and Father Tony J. Schumacher presiding. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. on Thuesday, December 4, 1997 at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive in Madison, with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James School Endowment Fund.
