Funeral services for Charlie W. Dreadfulwater, 59, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Walter Justus, pastor of the local Indian Baptist Church, officiating.
Born April 27, 1905, in Cherokee County, Dreadfulwater, a fullblood Cherokee Indian, died in a Muskogee hospital Saturday after a short illness.
A life-long resident of Cherokee County, Dreadfulwater was a member of Tahlequah Indian Baptist Church and an employee of Hastings Hospital for 22 years.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia, of the home, six sons, Jerry of El Reno, and Charles, Jess, Henry, Deanie and Thomas, all of the home; a daughter, Peggy Wilson, Tulsa; two brothers, John of Oklahoma City and Levi of Muskogee, and one grandchild.
Burial was in Johnson Cemetery near Hulbert.
