Clyde Newton Allen, 88, of Panama City, died July 18, 2006 at a local hospital. He was born on July 11, 1918 in Hammond, Mississippi. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII where he earned a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was also an avid fisherman. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Edna Allen, children, Jerry Allen and wife Shirley, David Allen, George Allen, Barbara Kadel and husband Joey, grandchildren, Michael Allen and wife Jennifer, David Owens and Heather Owens, Timothy Allen and Charlene Allen, Matthew Kadel, Christina Kadel and Janis Kadel, great grandchildren, Alexandria and Jessica Allen, April and Hannah Owens, Joe Todd, Tierra Tharp, and Jr. Tharp and faithful companion, "Little Bit." Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Allen, David Allen, George Allen, Michael Allen, Joey Kadel, and Matthew Kadel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1 – 2 p.m.
