Funeral services for Eva Marie McClaran Burns, 88, of Marshall will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Bob Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Downs Funeral Home.

Marie was born April 14, 1923, in Marshall, Texas, to Marion Godby McClaran and Eva Lily Hawkins McClaran. Marie loved to play dominoes (84), read, serving at the church and watching football. She is survived by her daughter Becky George and husband Jack of Marshall, brother Bill McClaran and wife Ann of Marshall, daughter-in-law Sue Burns of Marshall, grandchildren Cody Burns and wife Kristi and Josh George and wife Rachel of Marshall, Cory Burns and wife Hailey of Huntington and Carrie Morris and husband Dan of Union Grove and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Tommy Burns and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cypress Valley Bible Church.
