Alice Ruth Anderson Gerland, 77, died Dec. 1 in Temple after a brief illness.
Mrs. Gerland was born Dec. 31, 1921 in Hamilton, the daughter of L. Bine and Jeanette Baker Anderson. She grew up on the farm and later lived in Houston.
She married George C. Gerland on Aug. 25, 1952 in Liberty. They lived in Baytown and moved to Temple in 1980.
She was a member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and knew Christ as her savior. She loved to read the Bible and watch Christian programs.
Mrs. Gerland was a wife, mother and homemaker who loved to cook.
Survivors include her husband, George C. Gerland of Temple; a son, George Merrick Gerland of Temple; a brother Edwin Joseph Anderson of Idaho and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
