Mrs. Amanda A. Brown, aged 71 years, died at the home of her son, A.E. Brown, on Bride Street, late Wednesday evening, January 5. Cause of death was a general breakdown, due to her advanced age. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Cleaver funeral home, L.C. Routzahn officiating. Rev. A.H. Gammons for the Presbyterian church, rendered two vocal solos during the services, "Nearer Still Nearer" and "All the Way My Savior Leads Me." He was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Paul Struggs. Mrs. Brown was born in New York, September 29, 1855. She was married to Isaac Brown in 1888. She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Mrs. Clara Zinn of Ault, Colorado, two sons, C.A. Brown of Oakland and A.E. Brown of this city. Three stepchildren, Mrs. A.C. Rutherford of Arroyo Grande, Mrs. F.A. Neville of Loveland, Colorado, J.A. Brown of Sterling, Utah and one brother, H.G. Peck of Medford, Oregon. She was a member of the Christian church. The pall bearers were F.E. Bennett, H.H. Howard, Jack Corbin, J.W. Dennison, H.M. Adams and Willard Jesse. Interment took place in the Arroyo Grande cemetery.
