Dorothea Lorena Hollis was born on July 30, 1919, in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Schloe) Hollis. She married Donald C. Davis on November 28, 1942, in Los Angeles, Calif. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1991.
She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Scott County Health Department for six years and the Rock Island Arsenal for three years. In 1942, Dorothea received a B.A. in Sociology at the University of Iowa. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport, the Eastern Star, Etude Club and the 49ers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her sons, Donald Davis II of Rock Island and Derek (Heike) Davis of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren, Geoffrey Green, Elizabeth Green, Carl Davis, Mareike Davis, and Severin Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald, daughter, Diana Green, sister, Claretta Appenzeller, and brothers, Charles Hollis and Henry Hollis.
