Was the official non-human greeter of those who visited the Art & Antiques shop 201 West King St. Carson City NV. Owned by William & Gayle Klette.
He would stand on the antique bar and greet all customers that entered the shop with very friendly Meow and then follow them about the shop as if he was showing them the items they were looking for.
He even appeared in the Carson City Appeal newspaper "Capital shots" section on page two back in 2003.
He was one fine cat who would sit on anyone's lap who sat in the old arm chair just right next to Bud's desk.
Many a time he warmed my lap for hours at a time.
Leon started to loose weight in late 2007 and in 2008 he was diagnosed by the vet to have Feline Leukemia and slowly started down that path that awaits us all in time.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 20th 2008 at the age of 12. Bud buried old Leon in a homemade casket with a few of his mousey toys in the shops back garden under the statue of the lady washing her hair. To sleep forever in his favourite sunny spot.
Both Bud & Gayle have since departed this life as well so one can smile and think of them both being greeted by Leon as they arrived at the gates. ^_^
Rest in peace Leon your one cat I'll never forget along with your owners.
