John M. Turchetta, 85 of Petteys Avenue, Providence passed away July 12, 2011. He was the husband of Beatrice (Brousseau) Turchetta and son of the late Vincenzo and Giovannina (Vesella) Turchetta.
Mr. Turchetta was a painting contractor for many years before retiring in 2002. He was also a WW II Army Veteran and a life member of the Giovanni Folcarelli Post.
He was father of Mary Beauchamp and her husband William, John, Vincent, and William Turchetta and Barbara Benoit; step father of Walter Spitznagel, Sandra Davignon and Donna Seymour; a grandfather and great grandfather and brother of the late Armando, Louis and Bennie Turchetta and Mary Martini.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 am from the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Bartholomew's Church, 305 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Burial with military honors to follow in R.I. Vetetran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Friday 4-7 pm.
