Bonnie Elaine Mason Cannon, 80, beloved mother, daughter, and sister returned to her Heavenly Father on June 14,2011.

Bonnie was born March 12,1931, in Santa Clara, Utah to Edmond LeVoy Mason and Voile Elaine Stucki. She married Victor Leon Cannon June 25, 1949 in Santa Clara, Utah; they were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple March 3, 1962.

Bonnie was raised in Santa Clara Utah. She attended elementary school in Santa Clara and high school in St. George. She graduated from Dixie High School in 1948. Bonnie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Girls Camp Director, Primary, Young Women's, and Relief Society President, as well as various other callings throughout her life. She was well known for her service to others in times of need. She also served as a Member Locator Missionary.

Bonnie worked and retired from the Washington County School District Food Service Department. She also ran a successful catering business for dinners and weddings. Bonnie served in the Auxiliary of the VFW as well president. She was given the award as an Outstanding Young Woman of America.

Bonnie was a voracious reader, an avid quilter, excellent seamstress, and marvelous cook. She also loved to travel; visiting all 50 states, all provinces in Canada and over 15 countries.

Bonnie is survived by her children: Vicki Jean (Doug) Ahlstrom of Tropic, Utah; Terry LeVoy (Chava) Cannon of Mesa, Arizona; Douglas Vern (Ginny) Cannon of Ivins, Utah; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Sheila (Marvin, deceased) Watts of Brookside, Utah and Eleanor (Ronnie) Sessions of Manti, Utah.

She was preceded in death by husband, Victor Leon Cannon; son; Michael Scott Cannon; brothers: Ronald Ezra Mason and Mervyn LeVoy Mason; and grandson, Henry Bruno Whittaker.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara LDS Stake Center, 1706 Desert Dawn Drive, Santa Clara, Utah. Visitations will be held Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah and on Monday prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Internment will follow at the St. George City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Scott Cannon Scholarship Fund at Dixie State College.
