Erma retired from Heinneman Electric Company while she lived in Trenton, New Jersey. Her favorite pastime was baking. Her most favor requested baked good was her Cranberry Bread.
Erma was a wonderful mother to her three daughters, Patsy Smith and Nancy Margerum both of Ancram, New York and Shirley Wyzga-Johnson of Ocean Isle Beach. She was one of twelve children, having four brothers and two sisters surviving her today; her brothers are Mr. Willie French Bryant, Mr. Samuel Bryant both of Maxton, Mr. Bradford Bryant of Okeechobee, Fl. and Mr. Palmer Ray Bryant of Pembrook; her sisters are, Mrs. Mable Sanderson of Maxton and Mrs. Virginia Compton of Concord. She cherished her grandchildren, Roger, Linda, Michael, Christopher, Patrick, Juliane and Kyle; ten grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends."
