Services Being Held Today for Carl R. Vergin
Carl Rudolph Vergin, age 70, of Route 2, Culver, died Sunday afternoon at his home four and one half miles west of Culver, following an illness of 13 years.
The son of Frederick and Mina Werner Vergin, Mr. Vergin was born Feb. 15, 1890, at Wanatah, Ind. When he was one year old, he moved with his parents to a farm in North Bend Township, Starke County, and spent the remainder of his life in this community.
Mr. Vergin was a member of the Knox Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his widow, Emma Beatrice; one sister, Mrs. Alvina Bohling, McClure, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Grace United Church of Christ with the pastor, Rev. Harold Hohman, officiating. He will be assisted by Mrs. Vergin's niece, Rev. Rosamond Gross of the Assembly of God Church in Huntington. Burial will be at the Culver Masonic Cemetery with Masonic graveside services.
