Fr. Luis H. Acevedo was called to our Lord On July 3, 2011. He was born in Chimbarongo, Chile on September 25, 1927. He was ordained in Santiago, Chile September 22, 1951. Fr. Acevedo served in the Diocese of Houston until he was incardinated into the Diocese of El Paso Texas on June 5, 1984. He served at St. Patrick Cathedral, St. Joseph's and Most Holy Trinity with Msgr. Calles. He also served at Our Lady of the Light. Our Lady of Fatima in Van Horne, Tx, Santa Rosa in Pecos, Tx, St. Mary's in Marfa, Tx, and St. Mary's in Marathon, Tx. He retired from St. Joseph's in Ft. Davis in 1990. throughout his retirement he helped in various churches in El Paso and surrounding areas with daily Liturgies, baptisms, 1st Communions, confessions, 15aneras, weddingsand funerals. He also held Bible Study classesand Pre-Baptismal Classes.
