Garvin Alexander, 63, of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, June 30, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Oakman. Joe Daniels and Donnie Hyche will officiate.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Reba Alexander; and brothers, Wallace, Warren, Durwood, Hiram and Edward Alexander.
He is survived by his wife, Gail (Bonner) Alexander of Jasper; daughter, Denise Sanford (Jason) of Corner; son, Jeremiah Alexander (Leigh) of Jasper; grandchildren, Jacob Sanford, Matthew Sanford and Ansley Alexander; brothers, Garland Alexander (Betty) of Jasper, Gailand Alexander (Mary) of Jasper and Ira Alexander (Joyce) of Jasper; sisters, Marguaret Dodd (Donnie) of Eldridge, Jacqueline Tubbs of Jasper, Josephine Sparks (Pete) of Jasper, Marvelene Robinson (Frank) of Jasper and Easter Bryant Smith of Carbon Hill; brother-in-law, Billy Bonner (Helen) of Oakman; sisters-in-law, Olivia Scruggs of Jasper, Betty Shipman (Gene) of Hoover and Vicki Dennis (George) of Oakman; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
