He goes home to the Lord to reunite with his father, Jose Maria de Pilar Barrera, Sr.; his father-in-law, Apolonio Gomez, Jr.; one brother, Joe Barrera, Jr., and his grandparents: Jose Maria Barrera, Maria de Jesus Barrera, Manuel Franco, and Anita Leal Franco.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 14 years, Nora Gomez Barrera; his mother, Elida F. Barrera of Robstown, Texas; his brothers and sisters: Johnny (Isabel) Barrera, Elias (Elva) Barrera, Fernando Barrera, Belia Barrera, Elia (Guy) Stone, Daniel Barrera all of Robstown, Texas, Diamantina (Robert) Trevino of San Antonio, Texas, Hector (Sherrie) Barrera of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Ricky Barrera of Wolfforth, Texas; his aunts: Hortencia Vallejo of Mercedes, Texas and Julia Gutierrez of Robstown, Texas; his mother-in-law, Xochtil R. Gomez of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters-in-law: Laura (Mario) Hinojosa-Garza and Lydia Nelda Duenes both of Corpus Christi, Texas, and his cousin, Senovio Barrera of Portland, Texas; he will also be missed by his nieces and nephews: Michael C. Barrera of Denver, Colorado, John C. Barrera, Samantha Barrera (Dustin Walley) both of Dallas, Texas, Anthony Trevino of Camp Lejune, North Carolina, William Stone and Jo Marie Stone both of Robstown, Texas, and Maricela Ann Hinojosa of Corpus Christi, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, July 11, 2011 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
