Ellen M. Atwell was born to John and Mary Farley (Doughty) Atwell in April of 1857 in Pennsylvania, USA. She was the 1st of their children to be born in the USA and their 12th child of 14.

Ella was married to Charles L. Aldridge on 02 November 1884 by Henry Rice, Justice of the Peace in Clay Township, Adair County, Missouri. At the time of their marriage, Charles was living in Ames, Cloud County, Kansas and Ella was living in Independence Township, Schuyler County, Missouri.

Children of Charles and "Ella" were: Mabel (Aldridge) Bunnell, Myrtie Aldridge, John C. Aldridge and Cora R. Aldridge.

Ella was possibly living in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area at the time of her death as she is found on the 1930 Census living with her daughter and son-in-law, Dan and Mabel Bunnel/Bunnell.
