Below is some of the research and information that Winnette originally entered. I have added to it.

At this time, the parents of Redding Bass are unknown. Most of his records show he was born in North Carolina. There are some records that say he was born in South Carolina.
He was a longtime landowner and farmer in the Waleska, Cherokee County, Georgia area.

Redding's first known marriage was to ? WARD ca. 1838.
It is believed they had daughters Elizabeth Frances (b. 1839), Susan Caroline (b. abt. 1840), Christine (b. abt. 1842) and Malinda Azalia Bass (b. 1843).

Redding then married Elizabeth Lay ca 1845.
Their children were:
James David Redding Bass b. 1846
Nancy Rebbeca Bass b. 1848
Charles Freeman Bass b. 1851 and
Anderson T. Bass b. 1853
