Martha Sailors East of Bloomington, Indiana, 90, died on Tuesday, January 30, at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford, Indiana.

She was the daughter of John and Alma (Muessel) Sailors and was born July 4, 1916, in South Bend, Indiana.

She graduated from Bloomington High School and earned a BA degree from Indiana University. While attending IU, she became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, to which she devoted many years of her life. Martha was very active in Kappa Kappa Gamma, The Wednesday Club, Tri Kappa, the IU Alumni Association, the IU Varsity Club, and First Christian Church. She married Charles Hubert (Hank) East of Bloomington on June 9, 1939, in the home in South Bend where she had been born.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Paul Jones and her grandson, Christopher Jones of Seattle, Washington, her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janet East, and her granddaughter, Claire East of Bloomington, Indiana. She was very proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed every visit with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hubert (Hank) East; her brother, Robert Sailors; her sister, Mary Sailors Wray; and her parents.
