Hazel was born in 1908 in Yonkers NY. She graduated with high honors from the St. Mary’s School in 1923 and was a graduate of Yonkers High School Class of 1926. She was attending the New York Training School for Teachers when an accident discontinued her studies. Hazel was employed in the classified advertising department of The Yonkers Statesman then as a private secretary to the art critic of the Literary Digest in New York City. She was a member of the Lady Meves Circle. She fell ill as a result of a tooth infection which spread throughout her system. She died on July 3, 1929 at St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers and is buried with her parents in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
