Herbert Firmenich, 86, of Manchester, Cedar Glen West, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Green Acres Manor, Toms River. Herbert spent many years working for Ohaus Scales, Florham Park before retiring in 1985 as supervisor. He was a parishioner of the Pinelands Reformed Church, Toms River a member of the F&AM, Livingston Lodge No. 11. Born in Solingen, Germany, he came to the U.S. in 1953, lived in Livingston, Roselle Park and Lake Parsippany before moving to Manchester 24 years ago.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Inge Firmenich; a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Janet of Woodbridge; a brother, Horst of Germany; a sister, Marlis Kopchik of Stratford, Conn.; five grandchildren, Karl and his wife Gabriela, Sam and Alex Firmenich, Paul and Glen Huszar; and two great-grandchildren, Ariana and Gabriel.
Committal Service will beheld at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18 at Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Old Silverton Road, Toms River.
