He was born May 11, 1924, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a brick mason for more than 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Grady-Dewater.
Russell Adams Dewater & Eileen Cecilia Grady married July 24, 1945 in Cedar Falls, Ia.

Military Service:
US. Navy from 1942-45. Participated in World War II, European and Pacific theaters, and his ship was sunk at Okinawa, Japan, by kamikaze planes.
