Lucy, a resident of La Villita, NM passed away on July 31, 2008.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Adolfo and María Antonia Martínez, step-son, Manuel Jonathan Manzanares, brothers, Eliu, Deloy and Anever and half-brother, George Martínez.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Manuel Manzanares, daughter, Patsy Salcido, both of La Villita, NM, son, Paul García and his wife, Alma Váldez, of Alcalde, NM, granddaughter, Crystal García of Rio Chama, NM, great-grandchildren, Donnie Garduño of La Villita, NM, Frankie Garduño of Las Vegas, NV and Kaedan Casey García of Rio Chama, NM, step-daughters, Darlene and Janelle Manzanares of Santa Fé, NM, sisters, Dulcinea Martínez of Santa Fé, NM, Marylee Gómez and her husband, Clyde, of Las Vegas, NV, Pauline Governale, also of Las Vegas, NV and Virginia Ulibarrí and her husband, Dan of Santa Fé, NM, brothers, Frankie Martínez and his wife, Barbara of Las Vegas, NV, Juan "Jay" Martínez and his wife, María, Eliu Martínez, all of La Villita, NM and Margarito Martínez of Santa Cruz, NM.
Lucy was a very loving person with a big heart. Lucy would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Lucy loved fishing, dancing, cooking and she always stood out in a crowd with her outgoing personality. Raising her children and grandchildren were her priorities. Lucy was also a great step-mother.
Lucy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Visitation and Rosary will be on July 31, 2008 at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on August 1, 2008 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alcalde, New Mexico. Burial will follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM. Pallbearers will be Richard Romero, Frutoso Medina, Meliton Medina, Andres Romero, Jeff Martínez and Isaac Martínez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricardo Baldonado, Alex Gallegos, Horacio Manzanares and Beatrice Manzanares.
