Peggy, as she was known by family and friends, was the daughter of Josiah/Cyrus and Clarissa (Newton) Martin. She grew up in Nelsonville, a small town in southern Ohio. The family relocated to the Toledo area while Peggy was still in her teens. In 1927, at the age of 16, she married Samuel Gindy. Peggy was a stay at home mom during this period of her life, and they had two children, a son and daughter. The marriage ended in divorce in 1940, and shortly after Peggy took a job with the Lane Drug Company. Within a year she got remarried to Allen Breisacher. They had one child, a daughter. Peggy became ill in the Spring of 1943, and while recuperating in the hospital fell victim to the use of a faulty I-V, resulting in her unexpected and tragic death at the age of 31.
