John Driebergen 1925-2009 John was born Sept. 20, 1925 to Dick and Esther Soper Driebergen in Jerome, Idaho. He was born and raised on the farm. He considered himself to be the luckiest man for being able to travel the world as he did. John joined the Navy in 1943 and toured the Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after three years of service. John joined the Army in 1947 as a small arms and wheel vehicle mechanic and was assigned to many areas around the United States. He was honorably discharged in 1950. In 1950, he met the love of his life and married Patricia Reynolds in 1951 and to this union, four children were born, James (Carol), Deena Hood, Kenneth (Betty) and Mark Driebergen. He was grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by one sister, Alice Hutchison, Scottsdale, Ariz. and one brother, William Driebergen, North Carolina. John started his own wheel alignment business in 1953 and retired from John's Alignment in 1991. John was well thought of in the community. He was a quiet man with a sense of humor that made his family and friends laugh all the time. He will be missed. John has requested there to be no formal funeral. There will be a family and close friends gathering at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 at the Idaho State Veterans' Cemetery in Boise, Idaho. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Idaho Humane Society. Services are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor.
