Nebraska Governor. Graduating from the University of Nebraska, he was a successful businessman. In 1949, he bought the controlling interest in the Havelock National Bank, plus began the Victor E. Anderson Bottled Gas and Propane Company. He was a member of the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature, (1949-50) and was Mayor of Lincoln, (1950-53). In 1954, he was elected as a Republican the 28th Governor of Nebraska, serving until 1959. After his term, he was a U.S. delegate to the NATO sponsored Atlantic Congress in London, England. Leaving politics, he resumed his previous business interest until his death at age 60.
