S.C. Adams, 83, resident of Vermillion County many years, died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, August 3, 1936, at his home in Newport. Mr. Adams was born in Granger County, OH, May 23, 1853, son of Jacob and Jane Strouble Adams. He came to Indiana when a young man and resided in Vermillion County practically all the time since.
Surviving are the widow, Rhoda Anna Adams, 6 daughters; Mrs. Ollie Chambers, Danville, IL; Mrs. Edna Burroughs, Ridgefarm, IL; Mrs. Belle Peer, Dana; Mrs. Jane Robertson, Cayuga; Mrs. Margaret Gosnell, Newport; and Mrs. Ferol Elliott, Georgetown, IL; 3 sons; Ralph and Orville Adams, Newport; and Phillip, Paxton, IL. One son and one daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Friends Church in Newport, the Rev. E.T. Miles, pastor of the M.E. Church officiating, assisted by the Rev. C.E. Beebee and the Rev. Helen Hester. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, near Newport.
