US Congressman. Born at Little Falls, New York, he was elected as an Independent Democrat to the Thirtieth Congress, serving (1847-49). After his term, he was employed in the Post Office Department, Washington, D.C., (1869-75). After he resigned from the post service, he retired to Little Falls, New York, when he lived until his death at age 85.
