Mrs Margaret L Amell, 92
MARGARET L. AMELL STOCK CAR FAN
Margaret L. Amell, 92, Watertown Center Loop Road, died Saturday morning at Samaritan Medical Center, where she had been a patient since Nov. 7.
Born April 8, 1906, in Redford, she was a daughter of Israel and Minnie Bombard.
She married Oscar Kempf in 1925 at Tupper Lake. The marriage ended in divorce. She later married Albert Amell. He died Dec. 13, 1969.
Mrs. Amell was an avid stock car fan and enjoyed singing songs in French at many weddings and birthdays. She had lived in Curtis Apartments for many years and was a member of the Watertown Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two sons, Raymond Kempf, St. Louis, Mo., and Albert Amell, Watertown; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Pilon, Watertown, and Mrs. Douglas (Rosan) Marriott, Adams Center; a stepson, Oscar Kempf, Utica; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Edmond Kempf, and a daughter, Arlene Kempf, died before her.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Carrera, associate pastor of Holy Family Church, officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the town of Watertown Rescue Squad.
