U.S. Congressman. He was employed as a traveling salesman when he moved to Fostoria, Ohio and engaged in the manufacture of underwear. He was Mayor of Fostoria, (1905-09), plus served as president of the city hospital board and director in a number of manufacturing enterprises. In 1909, he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-first and Sixty-second Congresses, serving until his death in an automobile accident at age 34.
