William DeWitt, son of William Ross and Mollie (Kirkey) Pease; b. Nov 27, 1888 in Princeton, Indiana; d. Dec 16, 1971 in Antioch, CA; m. Edna Rosalie Beecher; b. Aug 31, 1889 in Corning, AR; d. May 26, 1926 from lobar pneumonia with the married surname of Peas in Neelyville, MO; bur. Sims Cemetery, Neelyville. She was the daughter of Dr. George Beecher; b. Feb 1849 in IL; d. Feb 28, 1920 in Mississippi Co, AR, and his second wife, Julia Ann Lawson; b. Mar 14, 1860 in AR; d. Aug 05, 1897 in AR. George and Julia were married Nov 12, 1887 in Corning, AR. He graduated from the University at Oklahoma City, was a physician, and owned a pharmacy in Corning, Arkansas. Dewitt Peas filed his WWI draft registration card Jun 1917 when he was a farmer in Nellyville, Butler County, MO, described as having a medium height and build, blue eyes and brown hair. In 1920 Dewitt and his family were farming in Neely Twp, Butler County, MO. Six children.
DeWitt; m. (2) Annie Sue Skelton; b. Jul 25, 1906 in TN; d. Feb 26, 1972 in Contra Costa Co, CA. During the 1930 census DeWitt and his second family were farming in the 3rd Civil District of Lewis County, TN. He re-filed for the 1942 draft of WWII when he and Annie were residing on Oakley Highway in Contra Costa, CA and he was employed by the Pioneer Rubber Company located in Pittsburg, CA. At that time he was 5' 10 ½" tall and weighed 124 pounds. Two children.

Note: There is a discepancy regarding DeWitt's place of birth between his 1971 obituary and another unknown source.
