Paul E. Abegglen, 73, of Olney, died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday Jan. 19, 1995 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Les Boldt officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Church of Olney Building Fund.
Abegglen was born Feb. 23, 1921 in Olney, the son of Edward and Nannie (Hall) Abegglen. He married Marjorie VanCleve Sept. 21, 1941. She died in 1984. He later married Patricia "Pat" Phillips in June 1986 until his death in January 1995.
He was a retired city clerk with the city of Olney. He served as mayor of Olney and also worked at Abegglen Furniture Store in Olney. He was a member of the Christian Church of Olney and also was a member of Olney Elks #926.
He is survived by his wife, of Olney; four sons, Tom Abegglen, of O'Fallon, Bill Abegglen, of Keokuk, Iowa, Jim Abegglen, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and John Abegglen, of Lake Charles, La.; a daughter, Nancy Traylor, of Vincennes; a step-son, Paul Phillips, of Vincennes; a nephew, Ken Abegglen, of O'Fallon, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Abegglen was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and a brother, Bob.
