"Sally Opal Poteet Balkey, 89, Kansas City in Clay County, died Nov. 13, 1991, at North Kansas City Hospital. She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Balkey was a member of the First Christian Church of North Kansas City and its Christian Women's Fellowship. Her husband, Clyde O. Balkey, died in 1986. Survivors include a son, Ronald 'Jim' Balkey of Kansas City; a daughter, Rowena Bartels of the home; a sister, Alma Poteet Burns of North Kansas City; five grand-children and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Star, November 15, 1991
