Henry Mason, 92, of Stet, MO died at 10:25 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. Henry was born on January 19, 1919 in Stet to Charles Franklin and Dorcus Sue (Mayden) Mason. He married Frances Vera Hamilton of Dawn, MO on September 12, 1946; she preceded him in death on December 11, 2000. Survivors include two sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Susan Mason of Norborne, MO and Dean and Cherie Mason of Lexington, MO; three daughters and two sons-in-laws, Janet and Alan Brumbaugh of Derby, KS, Joanne and James Brooks of Kansas City, MO, and Judy John of Odessa, MO; four brothers and four sisters-in-law, Frank and Martha Mason of Macon, MO, Jim and Dorothy Mason of Elkhart, IN, Harry and Doris Mason of Shirley, AR and Paul and Debra Mason of Robertsbridge,UK; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survives. In addition to his parents and wife, Henry was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Mason. Henry was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Higginsville, but he attended the Bethany Church of Brethren for many years. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Heifer Project International.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Wakenda Cemetery. Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
