Frank Fredrick Akers, 79, a quality assurance supervisor, of Florence, died of congestive heart failure, Monday, July 15, 1996, at Briar Hill Rest Home in Florence.
Services were 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 1996, at First United Methodist Church in Magee. Rev. Tommy Artmann officiated. Mark E. Seepe Funeral Directors & Crematorium handled the arrangements.
Mr. Akers was a native of Bluefield, West Virginia. He was a graduate of Bluefield High School and the University of West Virginia. He was a longtime resident of Sanatorium and was associated with Vickers Manufacturing as a Quality Assurance Supervisor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Magee.
Mr. Akers was preceded in death by Marjorie Pearl Akers and Lucille F. Akers.
Survivors include his daughter, Alice Benson of Wimberly, Texas; sons, Fred Akers of Clinton and Charles (Chuck) Akers of Magee; sister, Ethel Kensinger of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother, Joe Akers of Bluefield, West VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. (Middle MS Chapter), 931 Hwy. 80 West, Suite 51, Jackson, MS 39204.
