Betty J. Rockwell, 85
Betty J. Rockwell, 85, of Bluffton, died at 4:12 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Rockwell was born in Wells County on June 6, 1926, to Raymond and Essie (Sliger) Johnson. She married Robert Rockwell in Wells County on Aug. 10, 1946; he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1987.
Mrs. Rockwell was a housewife and worked at the Wells Community Hospital as a cook for 10 years. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Ted and Tim Rockwell, both of Bluffton; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rockwell was also preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Noonan, Norma Davis and M. Phyllis Conley; and one brother, Raymond Johnson Jr.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastors Tony Robles and Ken Noonan officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Family Hospice and Palliative Care.
