Mrs. Gisel was born May 27, 1914, in Jackson County, Iowa, the daughter of Jens and Sophia (Engels) Nissen. She married Edward Gisel on Feb. 20, 1936, in Maquoketa, Iowa. He died in 1954. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Rochelle.
Survivors include a son, Roger (Rebecca) Gisel of Garner, Iowa, a daughter, Linda (Richard) Ridgely of Rochelle; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters.
Memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Rochelle, with the Rev. Christopher T. Beamsley officiating. Burial is at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation is from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements were completed by Lyons Cluts-Simes Funeral Home, Rochelle.
Memorials have been established to Faith Lutheran Church, Rochelle, and the American Diabetes Association.
